Percy Pinedo appointed to lead corporate communications for FFK

WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Percy Pinedo has been appointed as the person in charge of Corporate Communication for the Curaçao Football Association (FFK), adding a veteran communicator with decades of experience in media and sport.

Pinedo has more than 30 years of experience in communications, spanning radio and television. He has served as a presenter for multiple programs at, among others, Radio Hoyer and Radio CUROM, and conducted interviews with national and international leaders, athletes and officials.

His involvement in sport dates back decades. In the 1980s, he was vice president of the football team Jong Colombia, and later served as president-commissioner of the Curaçao Tourism Board for four years, where he handled international relations and represented Curaçao on various international platforms, including Royal Dutch Football Association conferences in Miami, Florida.

Pinedo has also worked as spokesperson for Fundashon Bon Intenshon, building international experience through major events such as the Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival and the Curaçao International Film Festival.

He was involved in the launch of the Curaçao Soccer Academy, where he also served as spokesperson, and has consistently supported the development of football in Curaçao, including promoting sport as a vehicle to build greater unity in the community.

In the role, Pinedo will work closely with Kees Jansma, the press chief of the national team. His focus will be on strategic “storytelling” tied to Curaçao’s participation at the FIFA World Cup 2026, with the goal of positioning and representing both the national team and the federation in a professional and consistent manner.

The appointment is framed as part of a broader push to further professionalize communications locally and internationally. Pinedo will also advise the federation, as a member of the selection commission, during the process of appointing a Head of Corporate Communication.
