Second-half goals from Floranus, Sparen rally Curaçao U17, draw 2-2 vs Belize U17

GUATEMALA CITY (DA) — Curaçao Under 17 scored twice in the second half to rally for a 2-2 draw with Belize Under 17 on Feb. 8, 2026, at Estadio Cementos Progreso.

Belize jumped in front in the second minute. Andy Pop finished from the center of the box after a corner to make it 1-0.

Belize doubled the lead in the 41st. Byron Marroquin struck from outside the box to send Belize into halftime up 2-0.

Curaçao responded after the break and turned the match. Jëalardino Floranus pulled one back in the 64th with a left-footed finish from the center of the box after a fast break.

Curaçao tied it in the 68th. Eljan Sparen scored from very close range, finished a chance created by Floranus.

Curaçao came close to taking all three points. Kevin Davis hit the left post with a right-footed shot from outside the box in the 50th.

Both goalkeepers stayed busy late. Duron van Bennekom made a stoppage-time save in the 96th minute to keep the match level.

The referee was Shekiel Byon Jokil.
