WILLEMSTAD (DA) — Curaçao is back in the mix for a home send-off match before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Federashon Futbòl Kòrsou (FFK) working to stage a friendly on June 6 at Stadion Ergilio Hato.
The opponent has not been confirmed. The plan, according to the federation, is to line up a rival at a similar level.
The match is tentatively scheduled for June 6, with Curaçao set to travel the next day, June 7, to its World Cup base camp in Boca Raton, Florida.
Curaçao’s warmup calendar already includes a March FIFA Series trip to Australia. Curaçao is scheduled to play China on March 27 in Sydney and Australia on March 31 in Melbourne. The next confirmed friendly after that is Scotland on May 30 in Glasgow, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. local time.
| Date | Match | Competition/Type | City | Venue | Country |

Earlier, FFK indicated a send-off match in Curaçao had dropped out of the plans because it would not have been profitable and because there was limited interest from potential opponents in playing on an artificial surface. The federation also noted that some teams prefer to prepare in World Cup-like conditions, including playing surfaces, which made scheduling a home match difficult.
FFK is now pushing again for a send-off on the island. With a date and venue in place but no opponent yet announced, attention turns to which team Curaçao will be able to bring in for the final home test before heading to Florida.
