Andruw Jones to wear Braves cap on Hall of Fame plaque as Class of 2026 logos are set

COOPERSTOWN (DA) — Curaçao-born center fielder Andruw Jones will be depicted wearing the Atlanta Braves’ “A” on his National Baseball Hall of Fame plaque, as cap logos were announced for the Class of 2026 ahead of induction weekend in Cooperstown.

Jones, elected by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, played 12 of his 17 major league seasons with Atlanta and won all 10 of his Gold Glove awards with the Braves, along with five All-Star selections. Jones said the Braves gave him his first chance to pursue his childhood dream and that he is proud to wear the “A” on his plaque while also paying tribute to all the teams he represented.

Carlos Beltrán will have the New York Mets logo on his plaque cap. Beltrán played for seven teams during his 20-year career, including seven seasons with the Mets, where he earned five of his nine All-Star selections, all three of his Gold Glove awards and both of his Silver Slugger awards.

Jeff Kent will be shown with the San Francisco Giants logo. Kent was elected by the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee and spent six of his 17 seasons with the Giants, winning the 2000 National League Most Valuable Player award in San Francisco and helping the team win the National League pennant in 2002.

The Class of 2026 will be inducted Sunday, July 26, in Cooperstown as the highlight of Hall of Fame Weekend 2026, scheduled for July 24-27. The induction ceremony is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. ET and will be televised live on MLB Network.

Each plaque will be revealed immediately prior to each inductee’s induction speech on July 26. The plaque summarizes a career in approximately 90 words and lists every team for which the honoree played or managed, topped by an artist’s rendering that may include a cap logo.

Hall of Fame Weekend events also include a July 25 awards presentation honoring Joe Buck and Paul Hoynes, a July 25 Parade of Legends, and a July 27 live podcast taping of “The Road to Cooperstown” at Doubleday Field with the three inductees. More than 50 Hall of Famers are expected to return, with the full list of returning members to be announced in early July.
